We occupy the unceded ancestral lands of Coast Salish Nations, whose people still steward this land today. This land touches the shared waters of all tribes and bands within the Duwamish, Puyallup, Suquamish, Tulalip, Snoqualmie and Muckleshoot nations. Some of these tribes and bands still fight for Federal recognition.
As a community chorus, Choir of the Sound is committed to elevating and performing music from diverse cultures. In this show, you will hear music from many times, seasons, and places and we have approached them with intent and respect to the best of our ability. The common thread between this music and our lives is noticing the changes in nature and in ourselves through the seasons of the year and the seasons and times of our lives. We celebrate the joys and open ourselves to the sorrows…warm sun and bitter snow alike.
We continue to acknowledge and support Chief Seattle Club and the Indigenous groups on whose unceded land we sing. They provide extensive help for Indigenous people in need of supportive living and care.
This concert we are inviting our membership and you to support organizations working in areas of mental health. Organizations need more help to support increased need, and rely on donors like us and you.
If you or someone you know is struggling, reach out to friends, family, or professionals. You are enough, and your presence in the world matters.
