Update:  Our main website pages are now revised for the new season!

Holiday Concert: “Light Vanquishes Darkness”

Journey with Choir of the Sound as we explore this age-old theme that runs through Christmas, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, and other similar traditions around the world–from King Herod and the Christ child, to Grýla and the children of Iceland… or even the Grinch and the Whos!

Saturday, December 1 at 7:00 PM and Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 3:00 PM

We are hoping to be back at Shorecrest Performing Arts Center in Shoreline, but it may still be undergoing renovations. An alternate location will be posted as applicable.
Update: Our holiday concert will indeed be at the newly renovated Shorecrest Performing Arts Center!

Winter Concert: “Sacred Sound, Sacred Space”

Choir of the Sound commemorates the 100th birthday of Benjamin Britten by singing some of his greatest works in the ethereal acoustics of St Mark’s Cathedral. The choir will also perform Franz Schubert’s final choral work, Mass in E-flat Major, with orchestra accompaniment.

Update: Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will be changing part of the repertoire for our Classical Concert. We will still be performing at the glorious St. Mark’s Cathedral and will be celebrating Benjamin Britten’s 100th birthday as planned. However, we will be unable to perform with an orchestra as originally planned, so we will not be performing Schubert’s Mass in E flat major.  But we are very excited to showcase the magnificent Flentrop organ housed in St. Mark’s, and we will also perform an array of choral pieces carefully selected to showcase the ethereal acoustics of the space, including a vocal arrangement of Barber’s Adagio for Strings. We are thrilled to be performing this amazing music in such a wonderful venue!

Saturday, March 9 at 7:00 PM and Sunday, March 10 at 2:00 PM

St. Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle

Pops Concert: “Rocket Man Meets Piano Man”

Choir of the Sound presents the music of talented Pop icons Elton John and Billy Joel, from soulful ballads to flat-out rockin’ tunes.
