Ed Crull Biography
Ed was born in 1945 in Rapid City, South Dakota to parents Marjorie Frye and Edmund Crull Sr. He passed away in 2023. He graduated from Everett High School and then from the University of Washington with a degree in ?????
Ed began his career as a Seattle Boeing employee before relocating to California to work at Lockheed. While in California, he met Diane, his future wife. They were together for 52 years and married for almost 50. Ed and Diane had 5 children: Marita, who is in Heaven with Ed, and Desiree, Jeff, Jason and Deanna. The family relocated back to Washington state. Here Ed worked for Honeywell and retired as a systems analyst.
Ed’s life was rich and full. He was a proud grandpa (a title he LOVED) to granddaughter, Claire! He was an accomplished Sensei with a second degree black belt in Karate. There wasn’t a dessert he could say no to – cookies, sundaes, root beer floats- you name it, he loved it. He also LOVED cheese puffs – there was rarely a time when his fingers weren’t covered in orange dust! Ed had a funny sense of humor and loved a good pun. He also had a very mathematical mind and loved figuring out puzzles. He LOVED animals, especially his cat, Madysenne and grand-dog, Minky (he was definitely her “grandpa”). Ed was baptized and came into the Catholic faith at the same time as his son, Jason. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church since the early days when the church was located in the shopping center just west of the church’s current location. He LOVED his Catholic faith – he was there every Saturday and/or Sunday, rain or shine, sick or not, singing his heart out and praising God and Jesus. Ed led the Saturday 5 pm music for over 10 years at St. Elizabeth and sang in church choirs for several decades, including the Saturday night choir, the Spanish choir and the 11am choir at St. Elizabeth. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Ed played the trombone in the UW marching band. He was an active member of the Choir of the Sound, along with his son Jeff. He was also an accomplished piano player in his own right and loved tinkering on the keys, even up to his last days.
In addition to his wife, children and granddaughter, he is survived by his sister, Marilyn and brother-in-law, Jon.

Jeffrey August Fry, 65, of Kenmore, WA, passed away on April 14, 2022 at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland, WA from complications of cancer. Jeff was born in Seattle, WA on April 13, 1957, to loving parents Virgil Wayne Fry and JoAnn (Block) Fry. He grew up in Seattle as the second of four children, with two favorite brothers and one favorite sister. Jeff met his future wife, Linda Worley, during 9th grade at Morgan Junior High School. They went on their first date that summer. Their sophomore year was spent together at Shorecrest High School. In 1973, shortly before their junior year, Jeff and his family moved to the Denver area. His junior and senior years were at the newly opened Green Mountain High School where his was the first graduating class in 1975. Following high school, Jeff returned to Washington where he and Linda attended Washington State University in Pullman, WA, graduating in 1979. Jeff received his BS in Bacteriology and Public Health. He later returned to school and earned his MBA from Seattle University in 1997.
In July 1979, Jeff and Linda married and moved to Longview, WA where Jeff began his long career working in the medical profession in both the laboratory and information systems settings. Jeff worked for several hospitals including Valley General in Monroe, WA, Jefferson General in Port Townsend, WA, Providence in Everett, WA, and most recently for fourteen years at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
In 1983, Jeff and Linda bought their first and only home, a new house in Kenmore, WA, where they raised their two sons, Andrew and Corey. Jeff’s handiwork is evident in his many projects around the family home including finishing the second story of the house in the early years, a full kitchen remodel, landscaping a beautiful yard with Linda, and everything in between. Many wonderful years passed by quickly: helping with homework, watching soccer games, and gathering to celebrate the favorite family holiday, Christmas. Christmas was a time for Jeff to show off his expert caramel-making skills and woodworking abilities with his giant nutcracker, moose, and polar bear yard ornaments.
Jeff loved to travel, and his most frequented destinations with his family were Disney theme parks and Hawaii. These will remain very cherished places with many happy memories. Jeff, Linda, and often the whole family also enjoyed trips to many of the U.S. states on a quest to hit all fifty. There were numerous road trips and vacations to Canada, Europe, and Mexico over the years.
Jeff was a life-long learner and avid reader, with multiple books checked out from the library at a time. He loved music and sang in Shadows and the Concert Choir during high school. In 2003, he continued this love and joined Choir of the Sound (COTS) as a tenor.
A big highlight of Jeff’s life was becoming a grandfather to Corey and Quenita’s daughter, Kaya, in 2021. He became known as ‘Grandpa Roar,’ always making Kaya smile and laugh with his playful animal sounds. Life will never be the same without Jeff and his sense of humor.
Jeff is survived by his parents, Wayne and JoAnn Fry of Lakewood, CO; his wife, Linda Fry of Kenmore, WA, and their children Andrew (Christine) Fry of Rapid City, SD and Corey (Quenita) Fry of Renton, WA; his granddaughter Kaya Fry of Renton, WA; his siblings, brother Greg (Carolyn) Fry of Bonney Lake, WA, sister Valerie (Brian) Marbury of Castle Rock, CO, and brother Eric (Lindsey) Fry of Englewood, CO; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends whom he loved very much.
